BUKAS PALAD Christmas Party Celebration for Kids at Holy Name Mabolo City Cebu

"We may not have much, but we have enough that we can share to the less fortunate ones."

It was last week when my friend Glaiza Tangaha invited me to join in the Bukas Palad. It is somekind of community service wherein the goal is to give smile and help in a little that we can to those less fortunate children. When I knew about this, I get so excited and felt something inside of happiness because it is my goal that within this Christmas I can give help and share a little blessings to a less fortunate kids. It was fulfilled because of BUKAS PALAD.

I bought a teddy bear stuff toy and a pink jacket for a girl since we were already given names of a kid we are assigned to guide and take care for that one day event "Christmas Party". I always pray before for the event that hopefully I can give smile to the kid I am assigned too. Seeing a child happy is a great fulfillment to me since in the first place I really love kids.

It was this afternoon at 2:30 pm December 18, 2011 that we arrived at Holy Name Mabolo Cebu City together with my friends Glaiza Tangaha, Rachellyn Bacalso, Marinette Aying, Analiza DaƱo, Julimat Navares and Euseben Cabo who arrived a minute after us. We started with picture taking as we wait for the kids. When the program started, we as sponsors "Ate's" and "Kuya's" were told to look for the kid we were assigned too since all of us were wearing name tags for identification. I felt a little sad and disappointed when I search and realize Yoela was not around. I may not see her yet but I can't explain why I am sad. It was around 3:30 pm that we were told that 20 kids from Lilo-an can't come that's and maybe our assigned kids are one of those since it is not only me who don't have the kid we were assigned to. Since not all of sponsors are present, we were given kids who don't have sponsors. I got Mars Marlene, 8years old, girl and lived in Holy Name Mabolo.

As the program started, there was a surprise guest who definitely made kids wear a very wide big smile on their faces as they saw Jollibee Mascot enter the door and do his wacky dance, I even admit I felt like I am one of those kids too at that time who were surprise and so very happy to see Jollibee. After that dance presentation, we do pictorials and bid goodbye. We then started our games. I was surprise of how active Mars was. She volunteer to join the Trip to Jerusalem and I as her sponsor must be with her and join also the game. We won in the said game and got a prize of one pack chocolate, the next game we joined are somewhat like a basketball using crumpled newspaper and molded into circle, we don't win but we had a consolation prize. So happy to see how happy she is having those prizes and also seeing other kids happy and the eyes are somewhat twinkling due to happiness.

There was presentation from a group of kids who dance "waka-waka" while other kids are eating their hamburger snacks. After that, there's a question and answer game for the kids as for them to test how they know their sponsors and vice versa. Before the game started, Mars asked me a little few things like where o I live, what's my age, am I already working and she also introduce herself, where she live and what's her family name. The first question was "who among of your "Ate's"and Kuya's" whose name started with letter "C" just like the word Christmas. She raised her hand and answer "Ate Cheryll" and was asked to spell my name and she got it and receive a prize again. And followed by another question/s which also answered by other kids.

The party was ended with he giving of our gifts to the kids. All of them were excited to open their presents. You can't just pay any amount the happiness that you can see on the faces of the little angels as they open their presents. And they went home together with their parents.

We, the sponsors were left and gathered for a minute to give and listen to feed backs of co-sponsors. Everyone is happy and fulfilled and also can't explain the feeling of giving and sharing a little blessings to the children though we in our part are not that wealthy and just had enough and though how busy, still spend a time for those kids. ^^

"Hope no just on Christmas we can share a little blessings to less fortunate but in a whole year"

Wonderful Experience!!!!!!!
